NC State Fair 4-H Entries

4-H’ers who are looking to enter their creative items at the NC State Fair can do just that! There are individual categories for 4-H Crafts, 4-H Photography, and 4-H Entomology.

Click here to view the Premium book with all the categories you can enter and the rules. PLEASE note the rules in each section of this document and follow them (for example: is a picture frame required, what size must the entry be, captions needed for photographs, etc). This document also provides information to help you understand the registration system you will use.

Click here to registerMUST register before 5 p.m. on September 15.
Once you register, you may receive your entry tags in the mail. If so, place your entry tag on each entry item. All tagged entries are DUE to the Johnston County Extension Office by OCTOBER 9TH at noon, if you want the 4-H Agent to take them to the State Fair. Otherwise, please see drop off dates on State Fair Website.

If you do not receive your entry tags in the mail, please notify the 4-H Agent. To make sure your entry is tagged properly for competition, please tape a piece of paper on the back of each entry that includes the following information: child’s name, age division, category division & class.

IF you have the 4-H Agent take your entries to the NC State Fair, the 4-H agent will also pick them up at the conclusion of the fair. Parents can then pick up their items from the county office. (We are working out the details to have a "Fall Showcase" on November 21st, 2025)

**This registration process is completely run through the NC State Fair and 4-H Agents are not contacted about who registers. It is your responsibility to communicate with the 4-H Agent and to bring in your items by the Johnston County 4-H office by the deadline of October 9th.**

**Only items entered in the 4-H categories will be taken to Raleigh. If you enter NON-4-H categories, you will be responsible for transporting them too and from the state fair.**
