What is Safe Plates?

Safe Plates is a Food Protection Manager Certification course in participants are trained in the best food safety practices per the 2017 Food Code. Upon completion of the course, participants are provided an ANSI approved certification exam. Exam results are mailed to participants within 10 business days. 

When is the Next Course Offered?

Due to COVID-19 and CDC guidelines, NC State University’s Food Safety Team has advised agents not to offer Safe Plates for Food Protection Managers during this time. The team is working diligently to identify best practices for offering Safe Plates and more information is to come. 

There are no Safe Plates courses being offered at this time. Please contact the Johnston County Environmental Health Department for alternative opportunities at 919-989-5180.
