Our EMGV Class of 2022 will begin on Thursday, March 10, 2022

In order to join this year’s class, you will need to fill out an application with the registration fee of $150 by check or money order (payable to Johnston County Ag Center) by February 11, 2022. A hard book copy of the “NC Extension Gardener Handbook” will be included in the fee. Classes will be held each Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless it is a tour or Saturday workshop.

Next, you will do your initial volunteer training. This will prepare you to become an Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteer in Johnston County by introducing a wide range of horticulture topics, focusing on research-based information and how to find it, and sharing the science-based information you learned. There are some requirements in order to graduate. You must complete a minimum of 40 hours of instruction, weekly assignments, and an exam.
