Johnston County 4-H Muzzleloaders

This club will be held partly on the range, and partly in the classroom/shop. This will facilitate a learning environment if any of the 4-Hers aren't interested in shooting. Regardless, knowing the safe operation of muzzleloading rifles, pistols, and shotguns is paramount to the club. The club will meet on the second Saturday of every month. Please contact the club leader for the meeting location and time. We'll take a deep dive into muzzleloader construction and operation, and we'll learn basic maintenance, care, and repair. We'll also learn how to make muzzleloading accessories like bags, horns, powder measures, ball starters, ramrods, and maybe, down the line, we'll put a kit gun together for the club. Part of muzzleloading culture is self sufficiency and making the tools and accessories when needed. We'll have the opportunity to do just that. This will definitely be one of those "Learn by Doing" clubs and due to the nature of target sports, muzzleloading and some of the intricacies therein, the club will only be open to 4-Hers age 13 and up. Junior members must petition to join and require sponsorship by a senior club member (9-12 yrs old). Contact Club leader for Membership Dues amount.
