VIRTUAL Cooking & Balanced Eating Series Begins April 14

This is a 4-week cooking & balanced eating series that will be held 100% online with participants “meeting” twice a week online.

Due to COVID-19, we are unable to host in-person programming. Fortunately, technology allows us to provide this series to you from the comfort of your home or office. With current statewide restrictions in place, cooking skills are at the forefront of everyone’s minds, and we are here to help! Participants who register will meet virtually twice per week. This series will begin on April 14 and conclude May 7, 2020.

On Tuesdays at 2 p.m., we will post a presentation for you to view prior to the virtual cooking lesson that will provide cooking tips, nutrition information, smart shopping skills, and more. This series is intended to help you think about balance when making food decisions and is a great first step for those looking to manage chronic conditions through a healthier diet! Those who attend sessions live will be entered into a drawing for a prize. Asking questions during live sessions is encouraged!

On Thursdays at 2 p.m., participants will be able to watch virtual cooking lessons with Sydney (Agent in Sampson/Duplin) and Cassidy (Agent in Johnston/Wilson) LIVE in our Facebook closed group. Topics include knife skills and cooking techniques such as stir-frying, roasting, baking, steaming, and more! Recipes will be posted in the closed Facebook group.

Participation is free, and materials will be available for later viewing. We encourage LIVE participation in order for you to ask questions and interact with us! At the conclusion of the 4-week series, participants who complete an evaluation will be entered into a drawing to receive a “Cook Smart, Eat Smart” magazine full of simple and balanced recipes, food safety information, and more. A select few lucky participants will be entered to win a larger prize!
