Cooking and Nutrition Series Beginning May 14
Learn what healthy eating looks like, taste new recipes, try new cooking techniques, and enjoy fun, food, and fellowship with others who are looking to improve their health. You will also learn how to make your favorite recipes healthier. This series is hands-on and taste tests will be shared at the conclusion of each class. You will learn how to eat delicious foods while lowering your risk (or better-managing) chronic conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.
Why is it called “Med Instead of Meds?”
This series is all about the Mediterranean way of eating. Those studied in the Mediterranean region had a lowered risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and lesser risks of cancer. The Mediterranean eating patter is focused on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Learn easy ways to eat healthy, delicious foods of all flavor profiles (you don’t have to like Mediterranean-style foods to enjoy this way of eating).
