Food Protection Manager Certification Course to Be Offered in October

The Family and Consumer Sciences Program offers food-based education in the areas of food safety, nutrition, and health and wellness. There will be a Safe Plates Course and Exam offered in October at the Johnston County Agriculture Center. Safe Plates prepares managers for American National Standards Institution (ANSI) approved Food Protection Manager Certification and is offered by NC State Extension.

Managers who successfully complete the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals Certification Exam meet the FDA Food Code 2013 requirement for a Certified Food Protection Manager.
