4-H Hungry to Help Backpack Buddy Food Drive

As part of a Countywide 4-H Community Service Initiative, Johnston County 4-H Clubs, Johnston County FFA Chapters and the Johnston County Farm City Week Committee are collecting items to support the Backpack Buddies program locally.This Program provides easy open, ready to eat food to needy Johnston County youth when they are not in school. Donations will be taken to 2 schools in the county who demonstrate the most need.Johnston County 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters are in competition to see who can collect the most pounds of food. This program will run until November 18, 2018. Others who are invited to the Farm City Week Banquet can bring their items on November 23rd.
We need your help to make this effort a success because one person CAN make a difference. Please see the flyer below for a list of acceptable items.
Items can be brought to the Johnston County Cooperative Extension Office at 2736 NC 210 Hwy, Smithfield or pick up can be arranged for large donations.Contact Lori McBryde at 919-989-8380 or  Lori_McBryde@ncsu.edu for more information.
