Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) Now Offers FREE Consulting Services to Help Farmers Transitioning to Certified Organic

As part of our Organic Carolina Initiative (OCI), we will begin offering FREE consultation services to a limited number of CFSA-member farmers transitioning to certified organic production. Whether you raise row crops, livestock, produce or any other agricultural products, you are invited to consider applying. What matters most is that applicants are serious about seeking organic certification for at least part of their farming operation. Attached are the application and information/agreement documents. Review program requirements and what services you can expect from CFSA if you are selected below:

Requirements for Participation:

  • Attendance at ONE CFSA-Sponsored Organic Certification/Transition Workshop (more

  • Socially Disadvantaged Farmers* who cannot make it to one of the workshops may still be eligible!
  • Submission of a completed CFSA Organic Certification Consulting Application and Agreement
  • Commitment to apply for organic certification in a timely manner

Consulting services that CFSA staff will offer:

  • Provide information and field questions regarding:
